ARE YOU IN CHARGE?

In the past couple of days I have been asked by a few people, “Are you in charge of the Guild Web site?” It was a nice way of asking, “Why haven’t you posted anything about Friday’s vote?”

The answer is: “I am in charge of posting items, but I do not generate content for the site.”

In fact, back in March of 2004, after I designed the site and loaded it up with Guild-supplied information, I was asked to sign a document saying that I would never place any content on the site that had not been forwarded to me by Guild officials. I gladly signed. It provided a suitable and intelligent separation of labor.

POSTING INFORMATION

I try to get the content posted as fast a possible, first thing in the morning or when I come home from work: I do not post anything from work.

The moral of this story: I post the content that I receive in a timely fashion. In the case of Friday’s vote, I received information Saturday evening and posted it when I got home from work that night.

I hope this clears up any confusion regarding Web site procedures and my limited role in the process.
